Koil residents, students demand removal of garbage outside HSS Koil

Pulwama: The residents of Koil area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded removal of the garbage that is being dumped outside higher secondary school Koil.
The residents of Koil said that the garbage is being dumped outside higher secondary school due to which people of the area especially students have been suffering.
Since many months now, the garbage of a few villages is being dumped close to the school that is attracting large numbers of dogs thereby making movement of people in the area very difficult, they said.
Rizwana Jan, a student of the higher secondary school said that their parents have to accompany them in morning and evening so as to drop them and take them back from the school due to the threat of dogs.
She said that this situation has emerged only as garbage is being dumped close to the school.
Another student said that garbage is being brought in vehicles and dumped here but those who are doing it must think about the safety of the students first.
She said that if any untoward incident will take place, the government will be responsible for the same.
Meanwhile, locals said that they have brought the issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.
They have demanded immediate attention of MLA Pulwama and Deputy Commissioner Pulwama in this regard.
