Pulwama: PHE land donors in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama have been demanding jobs as according to them the government has failed in providing them jobs as assured to them.
The land donors said that they had donated their prime land in 2013 to get jobs but despite passage of over 10 years, they have been still waiting for it.
Gulzar Ahmad, one such land donor said that for the last nine years, he has been visiting from one office to another to get the job assured but as of now nothing has been done, he said.
“I have donated my costly land for lying of pipelines along a main road which is worth lakhs but despite that government has failed in keeping its promise,” he said.
“If the government won’t solve our issue at the earliest, we will have to take our land back,” he said.
The land donors said that they have taken up the issue with government authorities at district and even divisional level, but except assurances they haven’t received anything and have been waiting for justice.
Government knows that they have given land for jobs only and then why they have been delaying this process, they said.
The residents of Shaldaram Tral said that after the government failed to get land in many villages, the residents of Shaldaram offered them 14 kanals land but it was handed ovet to the authorities after they assured the local youth jobs.
They said that the government has come up with multiple structures on the land and providing water to around six villages but the land donors have been neglected.
They said that they have been waiting for justice for the last 11 years but it seems the government isn’t interested in providing them any relief.
They have now sought the attention of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in this regard.
