Resolution on Art 370 in assembly has no constitutional validity: BJP’s Sunil Sharma
Srinagar, Nov 6: The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in J&K Assembly and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Sunil Sharma Wednesday said that the resolution passed in the assembly has no constitutional validity as it has no powers to challenge the decision taken in the parliament, which was also acknowledged by the top court of India.
Addressing a news conference, Sharma said that the discussion on Lieutenant Governor’s speech was scheduled today in which the government would have been asked about their promises of 200 free electricity units, 12 gas cylinders, one lakh jobs and other things, but the resolution was moved this morning about the decision, which was taken by the parliament and also acknowledged by the Supreme Court.
He added that these resolutions have no constitutional validity. He asked the Congress to clear its stand whether the party was in favour of the resolution passed today.
“The top leadership of Congress in New Delhi including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge should come clear, if they are against the resolution then it can’t be passed due to the support of minority members of the house,” he added.
Sharma also added that the proceedings in the house will not be allowed till the resolution is not taken back. (KNO)
