Poem: If I would be a bird
By: Iram Zehra
Flying in the vast sky,
Where there is no tension of dying
Living a joyful life of my own,
Having chain of my life in my hands
Move here and there without any demarcating line
As I know there is no one who is mine
In a flock, I will enjoy the beauty of the sky
As there is no one who stops andasks me why
No backbiting and no side talks of anyone
As I am busy in dancing, chirping with everyone
Going high, so high and very high
Seems to me the last step of the sky
There will be no fear of death
As we know that God gives me wings to fly
God make humans the Crown of Creatures
But I don’t know why I hate to live among them in their brutal world
