Anantnag: The residents of Nussu Badragund area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district have demanded macadamization of their road through which they are connected with the rest of the world.
The residents of Nussu Badragund said that the road hasn’t been macadamized for around a decade now due to which the road is lying in dilapidated condition.
Hilal Ahmad, a local resident said that the road connecting Nussu Badragund with the highway has been neglected by consecutive governments due to which the people of these villages have been suffering for many years now.
He said that internal routes have been macadamized and even though the main road is close to the highway it has been neglected and even in LG lead administration locals were hopeful that they will get relief but that hasn’t happened as of now.
Zahoor Ahmad, another local resident said that all roads in the area were macadamized and even part of the road was macadamized but due to unknown reasons the work wasn’t taken up on the left out part of the road.
He said that local delegations have knocked doors off every authority but due to unknown reasons the road was neglected despite repeated assurances from the authorities.
The locals said that they have brought the issue into the notice of concerned authorities repeatedly in the last three years and even assurances were provided but in the end all these proved to be a big hoax.
They said that politicians have been visiting the area to seek the votes but they all have neglected the development of the region.
