Police recovers abducted woman in Kupwara, kidnapper arrested
Srinagar, Oct 17: Police in north Kashmir’s Kupwara recovered an abducted woman and arrested the accused person involved in the kidnapping, a police spokesman said Thursday
He said that police in Kalaroos received a written complaint from a person that his daughter (name withheld) has been missing from 12th October 2024. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 245/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kupwara and investigation was set into motion.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the woman has been kidnapped by a person identified as Fazal u Rehman War son of Abdul Haq War resident of Doniwari Dangiwah, Rafiabad.
Acting swiftly, the woman was recovered from the custody of the accused person, who was arrested on the spot. After completion of all medico-legal norms, the woman was handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is going on, the spokesman added.
