Police arrests two drug peddlers in Pulwama
Srinagar: Police in Pulwama arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic, contraband substances and cash from their possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Drusoo Pulwama arrested a drug peddler identified as Umer Hassan Yatoo son of Ghulam Hassan Yatoo resident of Drusoo Pulwama.
During search, 22 bottles of Codeine Phosphate (KAIMODIN-T) and cash amount of ₹10,800 were recovered from his possession. During initial enquiry, it surfaces that the accused was involved in selling Codeine Phosphate at high rates to encourage drug addiction among the youth.
Meanwhile, a police party during Naka checking, arrested a notorious drug peddler identified as Aqib Khursheed Dangroo @Junaid son of Khursheed Ahmad Dangroo resident of Zasoo. During search, Brown Sugar was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
