Shopian: The residents of Shalbanjer area in Shopian district Saturday complained about lack of basic facilities particularly road connectivity in the village.

The residents of the area said that they have been suffering due to unavailability of proper road connectivity in the area.

We are without basic amenities as for the last 70 years, politicians visited the village for votes and no developmental work is being done on the ground, they said.

Waseem Ahmad, a local said that there is no proper road connectivity to the area due to which they are suffering and they have to carry a patient on cart for kilometers so that he can be taken to hospital.

“We have to carry brides in carts for a few kilometers as there is no proper road connectivity to the area,” he said.

Abdl Gani, another local resident, said that they are living a miserable life as no one comes to their rescue.

They said that after hectic efforts the issue of water supply has been resolved last year but the main issue for the area is road connectivity.

This time politicians from different parties have been visiting this area and promising different things but once elections get over, they don’t visit this area again.

Locals said that they have brought their issues to the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.

They have once again requested concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest and take immediate steps in this regard
