Kashmir that boasts of some of the most beautiful landscapes and has a long history of tradition and culture is a region that has suffered from the backlash of politics and failed promises for years.

Politicians in the valley have proven to be hypocrites who use people’s confidence and expectations to vote them into power and then disappear like magic. This cycle of deceit has seen many people lose faith in many systems including the education system, business and most importantly jobs.

It becomes a tradition during election campaigns, our leaders visit the villages and homes of Kashmir to give big talks and big mouth promises. However, once elections are over, they vanish leaving the people to loss This kind of behavior has become the order of the day in the political affairs of Kashmir and ends up taking the region as a dumping ground.

There is a high level of unemployment in Kashmir especially among the youth and it has reached alarming levels, yet the politicians do not see it fit to be serious and come up with positive measures in paring this joblessness vice. The education sector which used to be a dreams providing sector has been badly affected by the negligence. The business sector is also in the state of stagnation and there are no policies for creating new businesses and employment opportunities.

Nevertheless, other states in India have come a long way as far as development, education and-commerce are concerned. There, politicians have fulfilled their pledges and turned their area into highly active regions of the country. But in Kashmir the politicians have failed to deliver their promises which have caused deterioration of frustration and hopelessness.

But this time, it is different. This time, the people of Kashmir must vote with a clear head and install only those into power that will steer the region into a new future. This is the reason why we need to vote and vote right, choose people who would care for the development of our nation and generations to come. Let me not be loyal to people who have disappointed me, spent my time with false promises and then just walked away.

Which is why we should support those candidates who have vision, with desire to work for our future, who will go to any length to solve our problems, and who will make sure that our region progresses. Let us elect leaders that will deserve our pride in being part of a developing state, progressing, and growing state.

It therefore becomes the duty and responsibility of every individual and the future generations to let our votes count. It is not the time to come up with regrettable conclusions, by making the same mistakes we did before. Let us vote in support of change especially in the social sectors and for the much needed improvement in the lives of our people.
