POEM BY: NISAR AHMAD BABA
My sold and me
Today, I spoke to my soul,
Face to face:
Unleashing all my pain at once
Questions I had held for ages.
Sheer silence after hours
He talked to me in low tone.
I heard it, but couldn’t grasp its meaning:
Justice, justice and justice he perhaps murmured,
Or was it death, death and death.
Breathing halted
I saw him dying beside me
My body drenched,
I was powerless,
Only witnessing him pass through my body.
What was that?
Poison in my words
Or an insult to myself?
Pondering…..
