Bellow Pulwama residents demand shifting of health centre to community hall
Pulwama: The residents of the Bellow area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded shifting of the health centre to the local community hall.
The residents of the Bellow area said that the health centre in the village is functioning from a rented room with no facilities.
They said that if the health centre is shifted to the community hall and equipped with better facilities, it can prove beneficial for locals.
Arshid Ahmad, a local resident said that the marriage hall in the area was constructed long back but no function has taken place in the hall.
He added that the health centre is functioning from a rented room where there are no facilities due to which people are suffering and have to rely on surrounding health facilities in case of emergencies and other healthcare needs.
Shakeel Ahmad, another local said that the community hall has been kept locked for years due to which the hall is lying in dilapidated condition.
He said that there is no use of the building and it would be better if it can be used as a health centre.
Locals said that they have kept the proposal before higher ups several times but to no avail.
They requested higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest and take immediate steps in this regard.
They have sought attention of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to address their concern.
