Conference on Ibn Arabi held at Awantipora in south Kashmir
Srinagar: A one-day international conference titled ‘Ibn Arabi’s Personality and Thoughts ‘was held in Syed Hasan Mantaqi Hall Awantipora Kashmir on Monday.
The one-day spiritual and academic conference was organized by Syed Hassan Mantaqi Academy in collaboration with Hidden Human Research Foundation and Care Foundation.
In addition to eminent scholars and scholars from Valley, many international personalities also participated in this conference. The spiritual conference was held as usual with the recitation of some holy verses of Quran, which was performed by Adil Ahmad Kumar Sahib in his unique voice.
Later the guests were welcomed by Dr. Muhammad Imran through a welcome speech. Renowned Sufi writer Prof. Bashir Ahmad Dar in his speech emphasized that there is an urgent need to know and read Ibn Arabi in the current era so that the misconceptions that have arisen in our minds can be removed.
Renowned writer and Islamic scholar Mir Imtiaz Afreen delivered a thought-provoking speech. With reference to Sufism and Ibn Arabi, he refreshed the hearts and minds of the audience. In his address, he also shed light on the ideas of Allama Iqbal, Karl Marx and Plato.
Shahbaz Hakbari, an expert teacher of mathematics and a well-known poet, also shed light on the teachings and thoughts of Sufism and Ibn Arabi in his unique style and enlightened the hearts of the audience.
The young writer Mugees Ul-Kaisar brightened up the conference with his short but comprehensive speech and reiterated that there is a dire need for research on Ibn Arabi in the present era.
At the end of this conference, Dr. Tawseef Ahmad Wani’s book Revising Ibn Arabi was also launched, before which young columnist and fiction writer Rayees Ahmed Kumar read a commentary on this book.
At the end, Dr. Tauseef Ahmad Wani, the organiser of the conference, gave the vote of thanks and assured that in the future, such events and conferences will be organized through the academy to encourage the young generation to participate in academic and spiritual gatherings.
