Police cracks theft case in Pulwama, thee accused persons held
Srinagar, Aug 13: Police in Pulwama cracked a theft case by arresting three accused persons involved in the crime and recovered stolen property from their possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that police received a complaint from a person identified as Irshad Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of Lajoora Pulwama regarding theft of a water pump from the under-construction building at Dangerpora Pulwama. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 163/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pulwama, and investigation was promptly initiated.
During the investigation, the team from Police Station Pulwama rounded up three suspects identified as Sheraj Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat resident of Keller, Mehrooz Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar and Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Qasim Mir, both residents of Dangerpora, the spokesman added.
He said that after sustained questioning, the suspected persons confessed their involvement in the commission of crime. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
On their disclosure, the stolen water pump was also recovered. Further investigation into the case is ongoing, the spokesman added.
