Police arrests two drug peddlers in Baramulla, Kulgam

Srinagar: Police arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesman said Monday.

He said that in Baramulla, a police party at a checkpoint established at Noorkhah Crossing, intercepted a person identified as Danish Javid son of Javid Ahmad resident of Jabdar Bijhama. During search, 30 grams of contraband charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He was arrested and shifted to Police Station Bijhama where he remains in custody. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bijhama and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman said.

In Kulgam, a police party at a checkpoint established at Tehsil crossing near employment exchange office Kulgam, intercepted a suspicious person carrying a nylon bag. During search, officers were able to recover 800 grams of charas like contraband substance from his possession. He has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Salam Mir resident of Mohanpora, Kulgam He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Kulgam where he remains in custody. Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 122/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman adedd.
