K.B Pora-Chimmer road in dilapidated condition, locals demand macadamization
Pulwama: The residents of Damhal Hanjipora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district have demanded macadamization on vital K.B Pora-Chimmer road.
The residents said that K.B Pora-Chimmer road is lying in a dilapidated condition for a long time now and it needs to be macadamized at the earliest.
Sayar Ahmad, a resident of B.K Pora said that the road connects a major portion of Noorabad area with the rest of the district but it has been neglected.
He said that the road is full of potholes due to which the daily commuters especially students are suffering.
Yasir Ahmad, another local resident said that the road has been in a deplorable condition for the past two years and authorities were informed who were assuring that the road will be macadamized but nothing has been done so far.
He said that road must be macadamized at an earliest as people of over a dozen villages are suffering.
Meanwhile, the locals said that they have brought the issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.
They requested higher ups to look into the matter and macadamize the road at an earliest.
When contacted, Bilal Ahmad Malik, Assistant Executive Engineer PMGSY said that the macadamization process on this road is expected to start this week as the tendering process for the same has been completed.
He said that the road was macadamized in 2021 and it will be macadamized again this year.
