Pulwama: The residents of Rathsuna area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded piped water connection to every household.

The residents of the area said that a mega water supply scheme has been constructed in the area and the majority of the households are yet to get a connection.

Javid Ahmad, a local resident said that there are no water supply facilities to most of the households in the area since decades and the people were getting water from tube wells.

He said that due to the ongoing heat wave, the level of water has gone down in these tube wells due to which they have no water facilities as of now.

Nazir Ahmad, another local resident said that the water supply scheme has been completed in the area recently but most of the households are yet to get connected.

He said that in every Mohalla only few households have been connected while majority have been left out.

The locals said that the government has constructed a water supply scheme for which they are thankful to them.

They said that the supply line has been kept above the earth and that is going to create problems in winters.

The locals said that pipeline must be put underground and all households must be connected with the scheme immediately.

They have sought the attention of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama in this regard.

Meanwhile, an official of the concerned department said that work is going on as the pipeline is being laid and in next 15 days all households will be connected with the scheme.
