Industrialists demand attention of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama
Pulwama: The industrialist estate Chatpora in Pulwama town of south Kashmir is lacking basic facilities due to which industrialists as well as locals have been suffering.
Industrialists said that the area is one of the oldest industrial estates of Kashmir but it has been neglected by the government and no attention is being given towards it.
They said that despite its potential for economic growth and job creation, the estate suffers from inadequate infrastructure.
Bilal Ahmad, an industrialist said that the interior roads in the estate are lying in dilapidated conditions besides that no water is available there.
He said that they have been suffering for the last several years now as the government isn’t providing any attention towards it.
Shakeel Ahmad, another industrialist said that at a time when there is a growing concern of unemployment there is a need to support industrials who are providing jobs to youth but due to unknown reasons the government has been neglecting the industrial estate.
He said that time and again authorities were informed who assured that steps will be taken in this regard but to no avail.
Locals along with industrialists said that they have met higher officials in this regard several times but except excuses the ground situation hasn’t changed.
“Key issues include inconsistent electricity supply, poor road connectivity, and insufficient water supply, which are critical for industrial operations. These deficiencies hinder the productivity of existing businesses and discourage new investments.” They said.
They added that the lack of essential services continues to impact the daily operations and long-term sustainability of businesses in the estate
They requested higher ups especially Deputy commissioner Pulwama to look into the at an earliest and take immediate steps in this regard.
