They said the road has not only provided proper connectivity to the villages but has made journeys easy and safe as this is one of the main roads to connect Tral with the rest of south especially, Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian districts.

Abbas Ahmad, a resident of Rathsuna Tral area said that people from south Kashmir visiting the famous tourist spot Shikargah do not need to visit Tral town as it got a better connectivity via Kachkoot.

He said that people will now heave a sigh of relief as there won’t be traffic jams on this route now as the road was very narrow earlier.

The locals said that the government must keep proper vigil on the road and special attention must be given towards maintenance of the road.

An official of the district administration said that this improved route will enhance access to the popular tourist spot Shikargah and the industrial estate at Hari Parigam.
