Illegal extraction of minerals: Police seizes for vehicles, arrests three drivers in Baramulla
Srinagar: Cracking a whip on illegal mining and transportation of minerals, police have seized 04 vehicles and arrested 03 drivers in Baramulla, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that police parties seized 4 vehicles (2 Tippers, 2 Tractors) and arrested 3 drivers involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Shrai, Shrakwara and Utikoo areas of Baramulla. They have been identified as Ghlam Rasool Malik son of Ghlam Mohammad, Abdul Rashid Malik son of Ghulam Mohammad both residents of Pariswani Kunzer and Noor Mohammad Chopan son of Mohammad Akbar resident of Saloosa Kreeri.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law were registered in Police Station Tangmarg, Kunzer and Kreeri and investigations taken up.
People are requested not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah/River, as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law, the spokesman added.
