Vital Padgampora-Kakapora road in shambles, locals demand macadamisation
Pulwama: The all important road from Padgampora-Kakapora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama is lying in dilapidated condition giving tough time to the locals.
They said that the road from Padgampora-Kakapora was macadamised long back and is now full of potholes and requires immediate repairs.
The locals said that it developed cracks at several spots and the road is currently lying in dilapidated condition at most of the places due to which commuters face huge inconvenience.
Syed Rashid, a local resident said that the road has vital importance and is connecting dozens of villages from Awantipora to Kakapora with each other but the government has completely ignored the road since last several years.
He said that people have been facing inconvenience on a daily basis as this road connects several areas with each of other.
The locals said that this is one of the shortest routes between Awantipora Tehsil and Kakapora Tehsil and must be given priority.
They said that the road is very important and government must give attention towards it for the relief of locals.
They said that the road is being used as an alternative to the national highway for several kilometres whenever there is traffic jam.
