Police arrests drug peddler in Sopore
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Baghi Sundri crossing Nowpora, intercepted a suspicious person. During search, 118 grams of contraband charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Najar son of Ghulam Nabi Najar resident of Hib Dangerpora. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 156/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore & further investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
