Commissioner FDA inaugurates workshop cum Registration, License Mela

Sopore: Commissioner FDA, Hashmat Ali Yatoo, inaugurated the one day Workshop cum License/Registration Mela here at Degree College, Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

The event witnessed huge participation of the attendees including representatives from various Kind of Business unit holders and consumers.

The program was also attended by the team constituted including Joint Commissioner Food Safety Sanjeev Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Food Safety Kashmir, Shagoofa Jalal, and other officers from the Department.

A presentation on the role of Food Business Operators and various FSSAI schemes was presented by State Nodal Officer, after which an open question answer session was organised in which FBOs raised various issues related to implementation of FSS Act.

Earlier, Commissioner FDA inspected various stalls from the FBOs installed for display  to the consumers and attendees including indigenous products.

The commissioner FDA acknowledged the positive feedback of the FBOs and advised them to come forward for better implementation of the FSS Act, 2006 and Rules & Regulations made thereunder. He reiterated to to accomplish the objective o the act and various schemes of the FSSAI, we al need close collaboration with eachother.

The commissioner FDA presented 135 Registrations/licencës to the applicant FBOs who participated in the License/Registration Mela.

The Joint commissioner answered the queries of the FBOs and requested all the stakeholders to approach the department for any assistance through proper channel and share any concern at the Toll Free Number 104 for speedy response.
