Police books drug peddler under PIT NDPS Act in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police in Kulgam booked a drug peddler under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining orders from the competent authority, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that the drug peddler identified as Imran Ahmad Ganie son of Mohammad Ramzan Ganie resident of Nassu Badragund, Qazigund has been detained under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining the orders issued by the competent authority and has been lodged in District Jail Kot Balwal, Jammu.
Meanwhile, police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A police spokesman said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Kralhar, intercepted two persons. During search, contraband substances including 30 grams brown sugar & 40 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Mozim Manzoor Bhat son of Manzoor Ahmad resident of Khadniyar Baramulla and Shahrukh Shafi Mir son of Mohammad Shafi resident of Bunhama Kupwara. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Baramulla where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been initiated.
