Police arrests a drug peddler in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police in Kulgam arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances from his possession, a police spokesman said Sunday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Khudwani Bypass Crossing intercepted a suspicious person, carrying a nylon bag, who tried to flee from the spot after noticing police party, but was apprehended tactfully. He has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Nengroo son of Nazir Ahmad Nengroo resident of Badroo Yaripora. During search, 05 grams of Brown Sugar and 02 Kgs of Poppy were recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 63/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qaimoh and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
