In a first, road connecting Zarihad Tral village gets macadamised

Pulwama: For the very first time, a road connecting Zarihad village in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district was macadamised by the authorities, thus putting an end to the decades-long miseries and sufferings of the people.

The residents of Zarihad village were very excited after seeing the vital road macadamised for the first time ever.

Mohammad Yousuf Khan, a local resident said that since 1947 they have never witnessed macadam on this vital road connecting their village to the rest of the district and other towns.

He said that this village was ignored by the successive governments and officials hardly bothered to visit the area.

He added that this is for the first time that this road is being macadamised which has brought happiness in whole village.

Aabid Hussain, from the village said that he has never witnessed the road getting macadamised and it was for the first time that this road will now prove to be a smooth ride for the locals.

He said that school going children, elderly people and patients were suffering as with rains, the entire road was getting sub merged in water.

Locals said that they had knocked the door of every higher authority several times in this regard but nothing was done on the ground.

They said that since last three years, they continuously took up this issue with higher ups of concerned department and finally the road was macadamised.

Locals of the area have thanked all concerned officials for macadamising the road and connecting this beautiful and picturesque area with rest of the districts.
