Demand repairs, macadamisation

Pulwama: A vital road in main town area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district is lying in dilapidated condition giving tough time to the locals.

The locals alleged that the road from Dalipora to Chatapora via Kashmir Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Limited ( SICOP) was macadamised long back and the road is now full of potholes and requires immediate attention of authorities.

They said that it developed cracks at several spots and is currently lying in dilapidated condition at most of the places as it hasn’t been macadamised since then.

Sameer Ahmad, a local resident said that the road has vital importance and is connecting large part of the town with each other but the government has completely ignored this road since the past 10 years.

He said that people have been facing inconvenience on daily basis as this road connects Rajpora road with Murran road and a heavy rush of vehicles is witnessed on this road.

He added that the Boys Higher Secondary School Pulwama and National Hockey turf are located along same road besides that sumo services to Rohmoo, Pakherpora, Charar-e-Shareef and other areas are plying through the same route.

The locals said that the road is very important and government must give attention towards it for the relief of locals.

They said that part of the road is coming under R&B and rest under SICOP and both authorities must take cognizance so that people won’t have to suffer anymore.

They said the issue was brought into the notice of concerned authorities several times but nothing is being done on ground.

They sought the attention of LG Manoj Sinha, DC Pulwama and other officials in this regard.
