Two terrorists including LeT commander killed in Pulwama encounter: Police

Srinagar, June 03: Two terrorists have been killed in an encounter with security forces in Nihama village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday, officials said.
An official said that two bodies have been sighted at the encounter site and they are being retrieved.
Earlier, encounter broke out in Nihama Kakapora village following credible inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
The encounter took place a day ahead when votes will be counted for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls tomorrow across the country including Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, a police official identified the duo as Riyaz Ahmad Dar resident of Sethar Gund Kakapora and Rayees Ahmad resident of Lerve Kakapora.
Riyaz Ahmad Dar was one of the oldest surviving terrorist and was active past 8 years, the official said.
It’s a major break through for police and security forces as Riyaz was wanted in many cases, the official added.
