World Environment Day: DEERS organizes Model Making Competition at GHSS Rainawari
SRINAGAR: In a significant move towards promoting Environmental Sustainability and as a prelude to World Environment Day 2024, the Department of Ecology Environment & Remote Sensing (DEE&RS) EIACP Hub Jammu & Kashmir Wednesday organized a Model Making Competition on the theme ‘Waste to Wealth at Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School (GHSS) Rainawari, Srinagar.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the effects of desertification.
Participants showcased their creativity and deep understanding of environmental issues through meticulously crafted models. Each model vividly depicted the adverse effects of desertification, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable practices to combat this growing problem.
The competition witnessed participation of 20 students, divided into 4 groups, who brought their innovative ideas to life with passion and precision.
Participants showcased their creativity and deep understanding of environmental issues through meticulously crafted models.
The top three winners of the competition will be felicitated on World Environment Day, June 5th, recognizing their outstanding efforts and contributions to environmental awareness.
This initiative not only highlighted the importance of addressing desertification but also encouraged young minds to think critically about sustainable solutions. By engaging the youth in such meaningful activities, DEERS-EIACP Hub Jammu & Kashmir aims to foster a deeper understanding of ecological issues and inspire collective action towards a sustainable future.
