Panzgam residents demand macadamization of roads

Pulwama: The residents of Panzgam village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded macadamization of roads in the area.
The residents of the village said that almost all roads passing through the villages and interior roads are lying in dilapidated conditions and the commuters and travelers are facing huge inconvenience.
They said that the road coming from Chakoora to Panzgam and other one from Kulpora to Panzgam is in dilapidated condition and it needs immediate attention.
Saif udin Ahmad, a local resident said that the roads in the area have been lying in bad condition for a long time now and authorities have failed in macadamizing these roads.
He said that people of the area especially elderly and school going children have been suffering mostly due to dilapidated condition of the roads.
Mohammad Shafi, another local resident said that all these roads have not been repaired or macadamized for many years now.
He said that these roads are acting as arteries for the villages as they connect the village with Pulwama, Awantipora and Anantnag.
Locals said that they have brought the issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.
They said that authorities have been repeatedly assuring them that the roads will be macadamized but nothing is being done on ground.
They have sought the attention of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama and Executive EngineerĀ R&B in this regard.
