Pulwama: The vital Pulwama-Sangam road in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district is lying in dilapidated condition due to which locals are suffering, they alleged.

Locals said that Pulwama-Sangam road is one of the most important roads of south Kashmir connecting hundreds of villages with Pulwama town, National Highway and other vital areas.

They said that the road was macadamised around four years back and is now full of potholes and requires immediate attention of authorities.

They said that it developed cracks at several spots and the road is currently lying in dilapidated condition at most of the places as it hasn’t been macadamised since last three years.

Muntazir Ahmad, a resident of Naina-Pulwama said that this road has vital importance and is connecting dozens of villages with district headquarter and it needs immediate attention of higher ups.

He said that at some spots the road is in good condition but at some places it is in dilapidated condition and must be macadamised fully at an earliest.

He said that some patches are macadamized every year but overall the condition of the road is very bad.

The locals said that this road is very important as it connects SIDCO Lassipora with National Highway and government must give attention towards it for the relief of locals and other commuters.

They said the road experiences heavy rush of vehicles and its repair works must be given priority.

They said that around 1 km from Naina-Sangam was left unmacadamized last year due to which that portion is lying in a bad shape.

They added that the issue was brought into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.

They sought the attention of LG Manoj Sinha, DC Pulwama and other officials in this regard.
