Demand upgradation of Power infrastructure

Pulwama: The dangling electric wires along with decayed wooden poles is putting the lives of Check Noorpora area of Pulwama district at risk even as locals  demanded enhancement of power infrastructure.

The residents of the area said that the dangling electric wires tied with trees and old poles are posing grave threat to the lives of people as well as to their property.

They alleged that they are living under constant fear due to low lying electric wires tied with trees in their villages since decades but no attention is being given towards it.

They said that poor LT infrastructure often leads to faults due to which locals receive unscheduled power supply.

Javid Ahmad Shah, a local resident said that locals on their own have installed wooden poles which are being used to support the transmission lines.

He said that the transmission lines are very weak and fall down frequently thereby risking the lives of the people.

Ashiq Hussian, another local resident said that despite raising the issue at all platforms the residents got mere assurances and no action was taken to relive the commoners of the inconvenience they face.

“Many lines in our village have been tied with trees in the absence of poles due to which the wires are very low and very weak and can prove fatal anytime,” he said.

The locals said that they have repeatedly brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.
