Police arrest drug peddler in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Sunday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Nambla Uri, intercepted a person identified as Mohammad Shareef Sheikh son of Baba Sheikh resident of Nambla Uri. During search, 4.20 Kgs of Cannabis Powder and cash ₹2000 (Proceeds of narcotics) were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Uri where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Uri and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
