Ugergund Pulwama residents demand protection wall along Romshi Nallah

Pulwama: The residents of Urgergund area of Newa in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded construction of a protection wall along Romshi Nallah.

The residents of Ugergund said that the protection wall was constructed long back and with the pessage of time the wall has worn out now and has got damaged.

They said that due to the damaged protection wall, water of the Nallah enters into horticulture and agriculture land causing huge loses to the locals.

Aadil Ahmad, a local resident said that whenever the water in the Nallah increases it enters their lawns and even damages the crops.

He said that people living around the Nallah are also facing threat due to heavy water flow in the Nallah.

Locals said that they have brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times, but to no avail.

They requested higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest and ensure that a protection wall is constructed at an earliest.
