Police arrests four gamblers in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police in Baramulla arrested four gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession, a police spokesman said Sunday.
He said that acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities along the roadside at Goshbugh Pattan, a police party raided the specific spot and apprehended four gamblers and recovered stake money of ₹4,550/- besides playing cards from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Akram, Mohammad Yousuf Dar son of Mohammad Abdullah both residents of Tangpora, Khursheed Ahmad Punoo son of Ghulam Ahmad and Shafi Ahmad Baba son of Bashir Ahmad both residents of Gohal Chakoo. They have been shifted to PS Pattan where they remain in custody, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Pattan and investigation has been initiated, he said.
