Police arrested four drug peddlers
Srinagar: Police arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla, Kulgam and Spore and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Galibal Chandoosa, intercepted two persons identified as Abdul Qayoom Lone son of Abdul Rehman resident of Shirpora and Mudasir Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rashid resident of Heewan Sheeri. During search, 36 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to PS Chandoosa where they remain in custody.
Similarly in Kulgam, a Police party during patrolling at Hadigam, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Farooq Ahmad Thoker son of Gull Mohammad Thoker resident of Hadigam. During his personal search, 700 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Kulgam where he remains in custody.
Meanwhile in Sopore, a Police party at a checkpoint established at Zonipora Crossing, Tujjer Shareef, arrested a drug peddler identified as Irfan Ahmad Pir @Bit Pir son of Mohammad Sultan Pir resident of Tujjer Shareef Sopore. During search, 560 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
