Illegal mining of minerals: Police seizes eight tractors, arrests seven drivers in Baramulla
Srinagar: Cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals at Kunzer, Shrakwara and Dargam Baramulla, police seized eight tractors, besides arresting seven drivers, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that police initiated the action and seized eight Tractors and arrested seven drivers who were identified as Adil Akbar Rather son of Mohammad Akbar resident of Ogmuna, Mudasir Ahmad Thokar son of Abdul Ahad resident of Chek Khaitangan, Yaseen Ahmad Malik son of Habibullah Malik resident of Hurchak, Mohammad Rafiq Bhat son of Abdul Rehman resident of Pakipora Pattan, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Khaliq, Umar Salaam Parra son of Abdul Salaam both residents of Tapper Payeen and Mohammad Hussain Parray son of Abdul Rahman resident of Goigam
The drivers alongwith their vehicles were found involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals and accordingly cases FIR under relevant sections of law were registered in Police Station Kunzer, Pattan and Kreeri against them and investigations taken up.
