Pulwama:-The residents of Kamrazipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded potable water in the area, alleging lack of such facilities..

The residents of the area said that they were getting quality water but from the last 15 days the area is getting highly contaminated water.

Ghlam Hassan, a local senior citizen said that they are thankful to the Jal Shakti Department for providing them water but due to unknown reasons the quality of the water has deteriorated.

He said that they have been suffering due to the contaminated water and if the department will continue to supply the same water, there are chances that water borne diseases may break out.

Mohamad Yousuf Wani, another local resident said that the water they are getting for the last 15 days is contaminated due to which people have been witnessing huge sufferings during this holy month.

He said that locals have to take long routes to bring potable water for themselves.

They said that they had brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times in the last 10 days but they seem unmoved.

They said that even calling higher authorities of the department has proved futile.

The locals once again requested higher ups to look into the matter and take appropriate steps in this regard so that the sufferings of the local population ends.
