Waltengoo Kulgam residents rue lack of health facilities
Kulgam: The residents of Waltengoo area in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district have demanded health facilities in the area.
The residents of Waltengoo Nar said that they have been facing problems in absence of health facilities in the area.
They said that they have been repeatedly raising this issue with concern authorities but nothing has been done as of now.
Gulzar Ahmad a local resident said that people in this far flung area are financially very weak and face problems in reaching other health facilities.
He said that the village comprises around 300 households who have repeatedly raised this issue at different forums including back to Village programmes but as of now there is no positive response from the authorities.
Shakeel Ahmad another local said that this area was hit by a deadly avalanche in 2005 and since then most of the people have been struggling to meet their ends.
He said that the health facility is of utmost importance and the government must look into it immediately.
Locals said that they have brought this issue in notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.
They have sought the attention of LG Manoj Sinha, Secretary Health and Directorate of Health Services in this regard.
