Police arrests two drug peddlers in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Noorbagh Crossing Wussan, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Mohammad Lateef Teli son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Ussan Khoie. During search, 3.1 Kgs of Cannabis Powder was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Pattan where he remains in custody.
Similarly, a police party at a checkpoint established at Odina near Transit accommodation, intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK16A-8457. During search, 130 grams of Cannabis Powder was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Mohammad Afzal Parray son of Assadullah Parray resident of Batpora Wakura Ganderbal. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Pattan where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
