Padgampora-Dangerpora road in dilapidated condition, locals demand repairs
Awantipora: The residents of Dangerpora and Padgampora area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have been suffering as the road lies in very dilapidated condition, the locals alleged.
They said that the road from Padgampora to Peer Mohalla Dangerpora is full of potholes due to which they are suffering a lot especially during wet season.
They said that the road is of vital importance as it connects the area with two primary schools, one middle school, Ziyarat Shareef, two panchayats besides agricultural farms.
Syed Rashid, a local social activist said that children and elderly people are suffering more due to the bumpy condition of the road.
He said that it was macadamized three years back but it didn’t last for long and authorities must repair it.
“We have brought this issue in notice of authorities several times but to no avail,” the locals said.
“Every time we are being assured that it will be repaired soon but nothing is being done on ground,” they said.
They requested the higher ups to look into the matter and take up the repair works this year so that locals won’t suffer any more.
Meanwhile, an official of the R&B departmentassured that road will be repaired soon and macadamized will also be ensured in the next financial year.
