They said that even after submitting the applications additional documents were sought and despite submitting the same, nothing has been done yet.

Rayees Ahmad, a local resident said that he has applied for birth certificate of his daughter last month but he is yet to receive it.

He said that birth certificate is must to get Aadhar card but he has been waiting for long now.

Similar complaints by other locals were raised who said that birth certificates nowadays are very important to avail different benefits.

They said that authorities have been claiming that these certificates are being generated within days but that isn’t happening on ground.

The locals said that they have brought the issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.

They requested Deputy Commissioner Kulgam to look into the matter and direct the concerned authorities to speed up the process.

Meanwhile, when contacted Block Development Officer Kund, Arif Ahmad said that he has recently joined here and all pending certificates are being cleared by this weekend.
