12 Govt educational institutions in Poonch get Smart Classroom facility

POONCH, FEB 29: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary on Thursday inaugurated Smart Classroom facility in 12 Government educational institutions  across Poonch District.

 Provided with hi-tech digital tools, the facility was established in Girls G&B Hostel Poonch, Boys G&B Hostel Poonch,  Girls Pahari Hostel Poonch,  Boys Pahari Hostel Poonch Parisha Child Care,  Palash Child Care,  KGBV-Balakote,  KGBV-Saral, KGBV-Mendhar, Eklavya- Mendhar, KGBV – Loran and  KGBV-Surankote

 Indus Towers Limited, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program – Saksham aided these institutions.

The program, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner – Poonch,  aims to provide the students an opportunity to learn digital and IT skills as well as enable the educators to effectively integrate digital tools into their teaching methodologies, making learning more engaging and efficient.

Aligned with GoI’s Digital India initiative, the program aims to provide school children with additional opportunities to engage with the content alongside their peers and teachers.

With the support of NIIT Foundation, a teacher-led smart classroom has been equipped with a computer, LED smart TV, printer, and an android box containing digital learning resources. The project will also help enhance the capabilities of the instructors to teach digital literacy by providing counseling, training, and certification.

 Deputy Commissioner – Poonch said, “We are happy to state that the education in these schools will now incorporate new technologies, taking the learning models into higher level for students and enabling the capacity of teachers to deliver the best-in-class through digital medium of education. We appreciate the efforts taken by Indus Towers in remodeling the government schools with smart classroom program.”
