Pulwama: Residents of Midoora area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday protested against unscheduled power cuts in the area.

The residents of the area alleged that they have been facing unscheduled power cuts due to which they are facing huge inconvenience.

Bashir Ahmad, a local Auqaf member said that they get supply of just few minutes despite a two hour spply schedule is currently in vogue.

He said that the electricity tariff has been hiked from few hundreds to Rs 1300 but still the people are faced with unscheduled power supply.

Zameer Ahmad, another local resident said that their tariff has been hiked to Rs 1300 per month but the power scenario has worsened since then.

“If authorities have been hiking fee frequently, they must at least upgrade the power infrastructure so that people may receive scheduled power supply,” he said.

The locals said that they have brought this issue into the notice of higher ups several times but to no avail.

They requested higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest so that they won’t suffer anymore.
