Police arrests drug peddler in Baramulla
Baramulla: Police arrested drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from his possession, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Sultanpora, intercepted a person identified as Shabir Ahmad Malla son of Mohammad Dilawar Malla resident of Sultanpora.
During search, 105 grams of contraband Charas like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Pattan where he remains in custody. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Pattan and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman said.
Moreover, Baramulla Police have registered 24 cases under NDPS act, arrested 39 drug peddlers include 3 hard-core drug peddlers who have been booked under PIT NDPS PSA in Baramulla district during the month of January-2024. Police have also recovered contraband substances worth lacs (value of contraband in black market), he added.
