Police arrests gamblers in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police in Kulgam arrested two gamblers and seized stake money from their possession, a police spokeman said Thursday.
He said that acting on specific information regarding gambling activities a police party raided the suspected gambling site at Furrah and apprehended two gamblers on the spot. They have been identified as Afroz Ahmad Tantray son of Abdul Rehman Tantray and Mohammad Rafiq Wani son of Gull Mohammad Wani both residents of Furrah. Officers have seized stake money of Rs. 6800/- and a set of playing cards from their possession. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 16/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
