Police arrests a drug peddler in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Mirbazar Chowk intercepted a suspicious person identified as Aamir Shafi Magray son of Mohammad Shafi Magray resident of Lalan Anantnag carrying a nylon bag. During search, officers were able to recover 4.3 Kgs of Grinded Cannabis concealed in a nylon bag from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 15/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
