Police arrest two drug peddlers in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police in Kulgam arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Alstop Chowk intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration No. JK14B-2204 with two persons on board. They have been identified as Aabid Hussain Peer son of Peer Sirajudin resident of Soaf Shali, Anantnag and Sohail Ahmad Wani son of Mohammad Abass Wani resident of Dhamal Anantnag. During checking, officers were able to recover 05 grams of Heroin like contraband substance from their possession. Both persons were arrested and shifted to PS where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 05/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
