Install dustbins in Murran Pulwama: Residents to authorities

Pulwama: The residents of the Murran area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded dustbins in their area so as to maintain a clean environment in and around the area.

The residents of the area said that dustbins are important points to promote responsible waste disposal and maintain a cleaner environment.

In the absence of dustbins, the residents said that people are throwing polythene and garbage along banks of a stream that is the source of several water supply schemes.

They further added that there is a need to create awareness about sustainable development and keeping water bodies clean and installing dustbins must be priority.

Ishfaq Ahmad, a local resident said that they have requested the concerned authorities several times to install dustbins in and around the area but nothing has been done yet.

He said that by fostering a sense of responsibility among residents, the community aims to create a positive impact on overall cleanliness and waste management in the area.

The locals requested the higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest so as to save water bodies and environment from further damage.

The residents said that they hope that their commitment to maintaining clean streets will inspire authorities to take immediate steps in this regard thereby fostering a sense of pride and responsibility among the residents.
