Residents demand repairing of Chakoora-Panzgam road
Pulwama: The road leading from Chakoora to Panzgam in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district is in dilapidated conditions, locals alleged Tuesday.
The residents of Chakoora, Panzgam, Grawgund and its adjacent areas complained of facing inconvenience while travelling through the road. They said that the road has developed potholes which make it difficult to drive on it.
They said that road was blacktopped several years back but hasn’t been repaired or blacktopped since then.
Nazir Ahmad, a local resident said that the road is currently full of potholes and is giving tough times to locals as well commuters.
He said that repair work on the road was started a few years ago but was left midway.
“We have approached the concerned authorities several times requesting them to initiate repairing of the road but to no avail,” said Sikander Ahmad, a resident of Panzgam village.
Locals said that despite bringing the issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times nothing has been done so far.
They requested higher ups especially Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to look into the matter and take immediate steps in this regard.
