Six under-construction schemes to be completed by January next year:- Official

Pulwama: Giving an impetus to the commitment of providing potable water to every household 13 water supply schemes approved under Jal Jeevan Mission have been completed in Pampore while the pending schemes are expected to be completed by January end next year.

An official said that under Jal Jeevan Mission 19 water supply schemes were allocated to Pampore Sub division and among them 13 schemes have been completed.

He said that these 13 schemes were constructed at the cost of Rs 13 crore and have been made functional.

He further added that six more schemes are under construction and are expected to be completed by the end of next month.

The official said that 90 percent of the population in the sub division now has access to the clean tap water while pending areas will also get water soon.

He said that the department has started separate schemes for Pampore and Khrew towns and these two schemes.

Through these two schemes, the new colonies of the these two towns will be covered so that everyone will have access to clean tap water, he added further.

He further added that six schemes for Gundbal, Androosa, Lalpora Chatlam, Wuyan, Bijnadi, Batdalaw and Bathina constructed at cost of Rs 26 crore are under construction and are expected to be completed by January 2024.

Gulzar Ahmad, AEE PHE Pampore said that the department is working overtime to complete all the schemes at an earliest and cover 100 percent population of the sub division.
